Why use facebricks?

People generally believe that it is more expensive to use face bricks or semi-face bricks for building because it does cost more per brick. This is however a misconception as not all the requirements are taken into account.

From the comparison between face bricks & stock bricks you can see that it is much cheaper to build with face bricks. You are paying more per brick, but you are saving the cost of plastering a wall, as well as the cost of painting the wall for both labour & material. This does not include the maintenance you will need to keep doing continually on a plastered wall & the paint which will set you back another few thousands of Rands every two to three years.

Face brick walls are not only more aesthetically pleasing, they are less work, cheaper in construction and have zero maintenance requirements.

We hope that this little costing exercise will help you in your future building project. Please feel free to read some of our other tips on saving building costs.
